$130,000 Of Scholarships Granted At The Interscholastic Equestrian Association Hunt Seat Finals.

IEA Lifetime Acheivement Award Created

West Springfield, MA—April 20th, 2008—Garrison Forest School Equestrian Team of Owings Mills, Maryland won the hunt seat upper school national championship at the sixth annual Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) national finals held April 18-20, 2008 at Eastern States Exposition. The middle school national champion team was the Dana Hall School Equestrian Team of Wellesley, Massachusetts.  The reserve champion team in the hunt seat upper school competition was the Rising Star Equestrian Team, of Medway, Massachusetts, and the reserve champion in the hunt seat middle school competition was the Dare Equestrian Team, of Hilliard, Ohio. 

The inaugural Interscholastic Equestrian Association Lifetime Achievement Award was named for, and awarded to Timothy J. Boone, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the IEA, and founding legal counsel.  This award will be granted each year in the future.

The IEA Leading Rider of the Year was once again Brittlan Wall (North Gwinnett High School, Suwanee, GA) who won the Varsity Open Championship class.  This is the first time in IEA history that a rider has won this award in back to back years.

The Victor Hugo-Vidal Sportsmanship Award was given to Abagail Postle. (Dare Equestrian Team, Hilliard, Ohio). 

The Western IEA National Finals will take place April 27th, 2008 at the University of Findlay, Findlay, Ohio.
