Hosting a Regular Point IEA Show:
- Refer to the IEA rulebook for all specific details of items listed below, in particular rules 2.C.1., 3-7.
- After the first year of Team Membership, all teams must host one or co-host two regular point shows for each type of team membership (i.e. Upper School Hunt Seat and Middle School Hunt Seat) each competition season. If a team has never hosted or co-hosted before, they must either co-host a show with a team that has hosted previously, or the show must be overseen by the zone chair.
- Secure a Show Manager and Show Secretary. The Show Management Team, and any co-hosts, must be finalized prior to the release of the show prize list.
The Application to Host an IEA Show must be completed and submitted to the IEA membership office at least 60 days prior to the anticipated show date. Shows held in September may submit the form 45 days prior to the anticipated show date. After IEA approves a date, a Horse Show packet will be sent to the show manager. This packet contains a detailed guide to hosting IEA shows, as well as templates for the prize list and other necessary paperwork. Prior to the opening date of the show, an Access database containing all eligible riders will be sent to the show host from which entries will be processed, and programs created.
- Show Secretaries must have MS Access 2003 or above.
- Event insurance must be purchased from Equisure, Inc. for the date(s) in questions, and a certificate sent to the IEA Membership Office at least 14 days before the show. Reference rule 5.C.3. for specific liability insurance amounts. Failure to secure event insurance will result in cancellation of the event.
- Shows wishing to use the IEA logo must refer to the IEA Graphics Manual.
- Failure to abide by any show hosting policies as outlined in the Horse Show Packet or IEA rules may result in any of the penalties listed in Rule 10.E.7.
